Strenatech Nigeria Limited ("Strenatech", "we", "us" or "our") provides fibre and wireless internet access to homes and businesses in Nigeria. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit strenatech.ng, subscribe to our service, use our customer portal or mobile app, or otherwise interact with us, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.

We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation. By using our website or services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what we generate by providing your service, and what your devices send us automatically.

  • Account and identity data — full name, email address, phone number, installation/billing address, and the password you set (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text).
  • Billing and payment data — invoices, payment history, and a tokenised reference to any card you save for one-tap or automatic payment. We never see or store your full card number, expiry date or CVV — these are captured and held directly by our licensed payment processors, Paystack and Flutterwave.
  • Service and network data — your plan, subscription status, data usage and speed-test history, connected device count, and technical fault or outage records tied to your line, used to deliver and support your service.
  • Support interactions — the content of support tickets, chat or call notes, and any correspondence with our team.
  • Wi-Fi configuration — the network name (SSID) and password you set for your router through the customer portal, used solely to apply that configuration to your equipment.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and pages visited on our website, collected automatically via standard web server logs and cookies.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and administer your account and deliver the internet service you've subscribed to.
  • To process payments, issue invoices, and operate auto-pay where you've enabled it.
  • To provide customer support and respond to service requests or complaints.
  • To monitor network performance, diagnose faults, and plan coverage or capacity upgrades.
  • To send service-related communications — billing notices, planned maintenance, outage updates — which are not optional while you remain a subscriber.
  • To send marketing communications, such as network expansion news, only where you've opted in, and only until you unsubscribe.
  • To meet legal, regulatory and law-enforcement obligations, including those under the Nigerian Communications Commission's licensing framework.
  • To detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, or activity that breaches our Terms & Conditions.

3. Legal basis for processing

We rely on one or more of the following bases for each use of your data: performance of the contract between us (delivering and billing your subscription), our legitimate interests (network security, fraud prevention, service improvement), compliance with a legal obligation (tax, regulatory or law-enforcement requests), and your consent (marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time).

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary, with:

  • Payment processors (Paystack, Flutterwave) — to process your payments securely; they are independently regulated and PCI-DSS compliant.
  • Field engineers and installation contractors — limited to the contact and address details needed to install or service your line.
  • Regulators and law enforcement — where required by Nigerian law, a valid court order, or a lawful request from the Nigerian Communications Commission or similar authority.
  • Professional advisers and service providers — such as our hosting provider, email delivery service, and auditors, bound by confidentiality obligations and only to the extent needed to perform their function for us.

5. Data retention

We retain account and billing records for as long as your account is active, and for a further period afterward as required to meet our tax, accounting and regulatory obligations (typically up to six years after account closure). Support tickets and network logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for service quality and dispute resolution, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

6. Data security

We apply industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS), hashed password storage, restricted staff access on a need-to-know basis, and tokenised card handling so raw payment card data never touches our servers. No system is completely immune to risk, but we continuously review our practices to reduce it.

7. Your rights

Under the NDPA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data — most of this you can update yourself in the customer portal under Account.
  • Request deletion of your data, subject to our legal obligation to retain certain billing records.
  • Object to, or request that we restrict, certain processing, including marketing.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email or the link on our website.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission if you believe we have mishandled your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

8. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your interface preferences (such as light or dark mode), and, where enabled, basic analytics cookies to understand site usage. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site — such as the customer portal — require them to function.

9. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for account holders aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We'll post the revised version here with an updated "Last updated" date, and where changes are material, we'll notify active subscribers by email.
